Hello, I'm Laura
I've been a hairdresser for 25 years. I spent many of them as a Senior Designer in a busy salon, then took my skills on the road as a mobile hairdresser, looking after clients in their own homes across Bishops Lydeard and the surrounding villages.
I've now settled into my own chair at Hair Shack in Bishops Lydeard. You can relax in a calm, welcoming salon and enjoy a beautiful finish, with the same familiar face who knows your hair inside out.
Whether it's a new style or a complete change of colour, I take the time to get it just right, so you leave looking good and feeling like you.

How do I book?
Just send me a message on WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger, or give me a call or text on 07926 930179. I work by appointment only, so I'll get back to you with the next times I have free.
Where will I find you?
I'm at Hair Shack, 14A Church St, Bishops Lydeard, Taunton, TA4 3AT. It's an easy trip from Taunton, Wellington, Norton Fitzwarren, Cotford St Luke, Crowcombe and all the villages in between.
When are you available?
My diary changes from week to week, so I keep things flexible. I offer daytime, evening and Saturday appointments, so there's usually a time that fits around work, the school run and everything else. Drop me a message and I'll let you know what I have coming up.
Is there parking?
Yes. There's parking on the road near the salon, or for something easier, the village hall car park is free for up to 5 hours and only a short walk away.
How much is a cut and blow dry?
A cut and blow dry is £45, a restyle is £55 and a gents cut is £25. My colour starts from £60 for roots, with highlights from £95 and balayage at £120, and every colour service includes a finish. You'll find my full price list further up the page.
Do you cut children's hair?
Of course, and there's no minimum age. Children's cuts are £18 for under 12s and £26 for ages 12 to 16, and I'll make sure they feel relaxed in the chair.
Do you do balayage and colour correction?
Yes, colour is my speciality. I've been doing it for 25 years, from balayage and highlights to full head colour and toners. Colour correction is priced by consultation, so message me and we can talk it through.
What if I need to cancel?
Life happens, so just let me know as early as you can. With less than 48 hours' notice I charge half the cost of the service, and with less than 24 hours' notice the full cost.
